Performing the Rawatib Sunnahs with Shortened Prayer While Traveling

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Scholars have differed on the preference of performing the Rawatib Sunnahs when shortening the prayer while traveling: some say it is recommended to perform them, while others say it is not recommended, even though the obligatory prayer is shortened. What is your view on this? The same applies to the virtue of absolute voluntary prayers, such as the night prayer?

A : It is the Sunnah for the traveler to leave the Rawatib of the midday, sunset, and night prayers, while performing the Sunnah of the dawn prayer, following the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in this. Likewise, it is prescribed for him to perform the Tahajjud prayer and the Witr prayer while traveling, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do so.
Likewise, all absolute prayers and those with specific causes are prescribed, such as the Sunnah of the mid-morning prayer, the Sunnah of ablution, and the eclipse prayer.
Likewise, it is prescribed for him to perform the prostration of recitation, and the greeting of the mosque if he enters the mosque for prayer or for another purpose, in which case he prays the greeting.
