The hadith of the one who messed up his prayer: he was ordered to repeat it three times, even though he was ignorant. How is that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding the hadith of the one who messed up his prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to repeat it three times, even though the man was ignorant. So is this...?

The Shaykh : Did you hear? The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said that he ordered him to repeat his prayer three times. What did we say? He asks why he repeated it three times, why he did not inform him the first time... Ibn Dawud?

The questioner : We said it was so that he would receive the ruling, as he was eager for it and prepared for it.

The Shaykh : Yes, and because perhaps at first he was being careless, so he would start again in a correct manner... The answer we gave was that the Messenger repeated it so that he would remain eager for knowledge and so that the knowledge would settle in his heart more firmly. That is why he said the third time: "By He who sent you with the truth, nothing is better than this, so teach me".

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
He said (may Allah have mercy on him): "And every sacrificial animal or feeding is for the poor of the Haram, and the expiation for the harm and the wearing of clothes and the like, and the blood for being prevented from completing the pilgrimage, wherever its cause is found. Fasting is sufficient in every place, and the blood is a sheep or a seventh of a camel, and a cow is sufficient for it".
