The Shaykh : Then the author (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "And there are three signs of the genitive case". The nominative case has four signs, and the accusative case has five; these make nine. The genitive case has three signs; these make twelve.
There are three signs of the genitive case: the kasrah, which is the original sign; the ya, which comes when the kasrah is fully pronounced; and the fathah. Yes, three.
