The ruling on inviting people to a meal accompanied by reciting Surat al-Ikhlas for the deceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some people invite others to a meal and require them to recite Surat al-Ikhlas for the deceased?

Answer:
It has no basis, it has no basis, neither the cooking nor the recitation, it has no evidence. However, if their neighbors cook for them or send them food; that is fine, just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered his family to send food to the family of Ja'far when Ja'far died; because something had come to them that occupied them. If the deceased's neighbors send the deceased's family dinner or lunch; that is fine. But if the deceased's family cook for people and host people because of the death, no, this is from the practices of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance.
