The Barzakh: Its Reality and Its Time

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: I have read and heard about the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection); please explain it to us. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The barzakh is the period between a person being placed in his grave and the Hour of Resurrection. This is the barzakh: the time between a person being placed in his grave and the Hour occurring. Those who were placed in their graves in the time of Adam and after him are in the barzakh until now, until the Day of Resurrection. And so it is with those after them, and so it is with those after them, and so it is with those in our day who have died; they have entered the barzakh and will remain in it until the Hour occurs.
So the barzakh is the time between your death and the occurrence of the Hour. This is the barzakh. Likewise, when the Day of Resurrection occurs and people die, they are in the barzakh until they are resurrected. When they are resurrected, they are done with the barzakh and proceed to the Reckoning. Yes.
