How to Form the Intention Before the Friday Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The listener, 'Urfah 'Abd al-Mu'li Muhammad 'Ali, from the village of al-Aqqaq in Aswan Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt, sent a message containing a collection of questions. In one of them, he asks: What does a person say when he intends to pray, and I specifically mean the Friday prayer?

Answer:
He intends it in his heart, and that is sufficient. He does not say anything except the takbir. He intends the prayer in his heart, just like the other prayers. Then, when the imam says Allahu Akbar, he says Allahu Akbar, intending the Friday prayer in his heart, just as he says it intending the Dhuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, 'Isha, and the 'Id prayers, among others.
As for what some people say, "I intend to pray such-and-such," there is no basis for this. It is a religious innovation (bid'ah). One does not verbalize the intention; the place of the intention is the heart. Therefore, verbalizing it is a religious innovation (bid'ah), whether one says it aloud or whispers it. It is not permissible. However, one intends it in his heart when he stands up for prayer. He stands up with the intention of prayer. Then, when the imam says Allahu Akbar, he says Allahu Akbar, intending the Friday prayer, or the Dhuhr prayer, or the Fajr prayer, among others, in his heart. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
