The Evidence for the Obligation of a Woman Covering Her Face

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He has another question in which he asks: What is the evidence for the obligation of a woman covering her face, and is wearing the burqu' and the kab permissible? The kab is known to him; he says it is a black garment like a robe that is not open at the front. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The evidence for covering the face, hands, and body is His saying—(Exalted and Majestic is He):
And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts.
[Al-Ahzab:53]. In the early days of Islam, women would expose their faces and hands, but then Allah abrogated that and commanded them to observe hijab, and He revealed this verse regarding it. This is the verse of hijab:
And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts.
[Al-Ahzab:53], meaning other than mahrams.
As for mahrams, there is no harm, such as her father, her brother, and the like. And likewise His saying—(Exalted and Majestic is He):
not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathersوَلا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَائِهِنَّ
[An-Nur:31], the verse. So the face is part of the adornment, and the hands are part of the adornment. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
