Ruling on Giving Zakah to a Poor Married Woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
They also ask about married women who have no income other than what a relative or husband generously provides. Is it permissible to distribute zakah to this type of wife, especially if the husband gives her nothing other than what she eats, drinks, or wears? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is not permissible to give zakah to a woman who has a husband. Rather, the husband is given, if the husband is poor; he is given what he spends on his wife. As for her, she is not given; because she is wealthy through her husband. And if her husband does not fulfill what is obligatory, she can request the court to give her justice, or her awliya (close friends of Allah) to advise him, or her neighbors to advise him.
The point is: she must strive to resolve the problem through any means, through the advice of neighbors, or relatives and friends, or between her and him, she warns him of Allah, and asks him to give her her right. As for being given from the zakah, no; because many women are lenient in this matter. She may ask for zakah while she is playing with the money, and she has enough, or she buys with it other things that are not necessary.
The point is: zakah is not given to the wife as long as she has a husband who is responsible for her. But if he is poor, he is given, and he is the one who spends on his wife. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
