Giving zakah to a poor sister

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question from fatwa number ( 278 )
Q5: If a man has a full sister who is married to a man of poor means, is it permissible for her to receive some of her brothers' zakah?
A5: A woman's financial maintenance is obligatory upon her husband. Therefore, if he is poor, his wife's brothers may give him some of the zakah of their wealth so that he can spend it on himself, his wife, and those he supports. Likewise, the brothers of this wife may give their sister some of the zakah of their wealth so that she can spend it on herself, her poor husband, and her children. In fact, if this wife has wealth that reaches the threshold for zakah, she may give the zakah of her wealth to her husband so that he can spend it on those he supports. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
