The ruling on spreading the arms for the follower, lying down in prayer, and exaggerating in turning around

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Also, among the things observed in some of the worshippers are matters such as: spreading the elbows excessively, excessive stretching during prostration, and the light sitting before standing up for the second rak'ah; is it obligatory?
It is also observed that some people exaggerate in turning to the right and left when saying the closing salam, and in the tawarruk position for the follower in a crowded row, and in lying down—as they say—in prayer, and placing the palm on the palm rather than on the wrist while standing. He seeks guidance regarding these matters, O Shaykh.

Answer:
The Sunnah for the believer is to be mindful of not causing harm, so he does not harm his neighbors with his limbs. Rather, he should be close to them so as not to harm anyone. Although it is prescribed for him to spread his arms and sides, he should not inconvenience his brothers if the row is narrow during prostration. He should spread out as much as he can without causing harm. Everyone should be mindful of not causing harm, spreading out as much as possible without the need to cause harm. If he cannot do so, he should not harm his neighbors, even if he brings his arms close to his sides if he cannot spread them; for then he does not harm them or make things difficult for them, but rather he is gentle with them. The believer is the brother of the believer, and Allah says: :
And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly born upon themselves a slander and manifest sin.
[Al-Ahzab: 58].
So the Muslim does not harm his brother or cause him harm. Likewise, excessive stretching during prostration is not prescribed. The Sunnah is to be balanced in prostration, separating the arms from the sides, the belly from the thighs, and the thighs from the lower legs, and to be balanced, raising the arms from the ground and relying on the palms in prostration, being completely balanced, not somewhat lying down, stretching oneself like one who is lying down, but rather being balanced and straightening the back and body completely; so that he is relying on his palms, raising his belly from his thighs, and his thighs from his lower legs during prostration.
Thus, the believer should be like this, and not lie down in prayer. Rather, he should have complete care for the prayer, humility in it, and turning to Allah , so that his prayer is a prayer of humility, turning to Allah, and tranquility, like the action of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions .
Likewise, one should not exaggerate excessively. The Sunnah was that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned in the salam, he turned until the whiteness of his cheek was seen, to the right and to the left. So he does not turn more than this. He turns like this and like this; until his cheek is seen, there is no harm. He sees the one behind him, there is no blame, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did. The imam turns to the followers, and the follower turns to his right and to his left to the one on his right and the one on his left; until he sees the one on his right and the one on his left, his cheek when he turns. Yes.
