The minimum obligatory recitation in obligatory and voluntary prayers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The listener Muhammad Saleh from Jizan sent a number of questions, among which is a question that says: What is the minimum amount of the Noble Qur'an that must be memorized for the obligatory prayer and the voluntary prayer? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The minimum amount one must memorize is al-Fatihah; it is obligatory to memorize it.
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds -الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
[Al-Fatihah 1:2]
This is the obligatory pillar in the prayer. It is obligatory for every person to memorize it, both men and women. Then, it is prescribed for him to memorize whatever is easy of the surahs, so that he reads with al-Fatihah whatever is easy, such as short surahs. He should strive to memorize whatever is easy; that is prescribed for him, but it is not obligatory for him except al-Fatihah, because it is the pillar for everyone: the imam, the one praying alone, and the one praying behind the imam. It is an obligation for all of them. However, in the case of the one praying behind the imam, it is an obligation that is dropped due to forgetfulness and negligence, and it is dropped due to ignorance, and it is dropped if he misses the standing and catches up with the imam in bowing; in that case, it is dropped from him. But it is obligatory for him to learn it and memorize it. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
