Ruling on Wearing Clothes with Images on Them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Finally, our sister asks about clothes that have some images on them; how should a woman deal with them? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Clothes that have an image of an animal are not to be worn, nor an image of a human, nor a beast; they are not to be worn. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a garment with images on it, he tore it and became angry, saying:
The makers of these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: 'Bring to life that which you have created.'إن أصحاب هذه الصور يعذبون يوم القيامة ويقال لهم: أحيوا ما خلقتم
Sunan an-Nasa'i 5362Sahih (Darussalam)
Therefore, it is not permissible to wear garments with images on them, nor to hang them on walls, nor in offices; this is not permissible.
However, there is no harm if they are on carpets, on cushions, or on mats; there is no harm in that because they are trampled upon. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tore the curtain, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said:
So she made from it two cushions which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) usedفجعلت منه وسادتين يرتفق بهما النبي، عليه الصلاة والسلام
because it is trampled upon. And in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) : that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had an appointment with Jibril one day, so Jibril came but did not enter. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him about that, and he said: "There is a statue in the house, a curtain with images on it, and a dog." So they looked, and indeed the statue was there. He ordered that the head of the statue be cut off so that it would be like a tree, and he ordered that the curtain be made into two cushions to be trampled upon in a secluded place, and he ordered that the dog be driven out. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did what Jibril said, and Jibril (peace and blessings be upon him) entered. As for the dog, they found it under a bed of theirs; al-Hasan or al-Husayn, the sons of Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with them both and her), had put it there; it was a puppy that al-Hasan or al-Husayn had put there.
This indicates that if an image is on a cushion or on a mat that is trampled upon, there is no harm. And if an image has no head—a body without a head—it is not prohibited; there is no harm in its presence on a garment or otherwise; because it is like a tree in that case. Yes.
