The Ruling on Praying in Clothing with Images

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some clothing has small images on it, so what is the ruling on praying in it?

Answer:
One does not pray in clothing that has images in it, and one is prohibited from praying in it, whether the images are large or small, small or large birds, or other animals, except if they are in a place that is trodden upon. If they are on carpets or cushions that are trodden upon, there is no harm in that. However, wearing them on men, women, or children, or placing them on walls, or hanging them on anything, is prohibited; because it involves displaying the images. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a curtain at Aisha’s that had images in it, he tore it and became angry and said:
The makers of these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: 'Bring to life that which you have created.'إنَّ أصحاب هذه الصور يُعذَّبون يوم القيامة، ويُقال لهم: أحيوا ما خلقتم
Sunan an-Nasa'i 5362Sahih (Darussalam)
. Aisha said: So we made two cushions from that curtain, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used them.
Also in the authentic hadith: Jibril had an appointment with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but he was delayed. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him about the delay, and he said:
Indeed, in the house there is a statue, a curtain with images in it, and a dogإنَّ في البيت تمثالًا وسترًا فيه تصاوير وكلبًا
. And Jibril said to him:
Order the dog to be taken out, the statue to have its head cut off, and the curtain to be cut into two low cushions to be sat upon.مُرْ بالكلب أن يُخرج، وبالتمثال أن يُقطع رأسه، وبالستر أن يُقطع منه وسادتان منتبذتان تُوطآن
. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did so, and Jibril entered upon him.
