How to Make the Best Use of Time

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The last question we are presenting to our sister in this episode is: How does a Muslim spend his time from the beginning of the day to the end?

Answer:
A Muslim should guard his time, both night and day, and spend it in the obedience of Allah through prayer, glorification, declaring the greatness of Allah, remembrance, and righteous supplication. It is also prescribed for him to spend it in his needs, the needs of his family. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to attend to the needs of his family in his home, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him.
Likewise, in earning lawful income through selling, buying, and permissible trade, and in permissible jobs by which he earns his livelihood to spend on his family and himself, his time is preserved, either in seeking lawful sustenance, or in acts of worship, such as dhikr, recitation, reciting the Qur'an, tasbih, tahlil, and voluntary prayer during the times of prayer, and likewise what benefits him in the Hereafter, such as calling to Allah, enjoining good and forbidding evil, visiting the sick, and other forms of good, such as good intercession by which he fulfills his brother's need, and likewise seeking sustenance through selling and buying, or through permissible work, seeking sustenance; this is how his night and day are, his night and day are preserved in what benefits him in this world and the Hereafter. He guards against spending part of his time in what Allah has forbidden of sins, and he is at the utmost in caution so that he preserves his tongue and his limbs from everything Allah has forbidden . Likewise, he preserves his time from idle talk and useless words that have no benefit; rather, his times are preserved either in seeking the Hereafter and righteous deeds, or in seeking lawful sustenance by which he becomes independent of people, or in silence, or in sleep he needs, or in talking with his family, being kind to his family, and keeping his family company, his wife, his children, his mother, and his father; he finds comfort in them and talks with them at some times, keeping them company. All of this is what Allah loves . Yes.

The presenter : We will set this topic aside until another opportunity arises, if Allah wills, to speak about it in a broader way.
