A1: The principle in the pure Shari'ah is that the relationship between the spouses should be based on what is right, as Allah the Exalted said: and He the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah 2:228] Each spouse has rights over the other that must be fulfilled, and it is not permissible for either of them to harm the other in any way without right. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
