The ruling on taking children to the mosque on Friday
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What do you advise those who take their children to the mosque on Friday, who distract the worshippers with talking and playing while the preacher is on the pulpit?
Answer: A child under the age of seven should stay with his family so as not to distract people; he should stay with his family so that he does not cause harm to people. However, if the child has reached the age of seven or older, he prays with the people, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the guardians to order their children to pray, saying:Sunan ad-Daraqutni 3:5. Therefore, their fathers and older brothers should take them out to prayer, direct them, and discipline them if they harm people, and prevent them from doing so, until they settle on the straight path and pray with the people without causing harm.
