The Ruling on Cosmetic Surgery

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What is the ruling on cosmetic surgery, especially if the reason for the surgery is an emergency matter and not something that existed originally?
Answer: There is no harm in using means of beautification, such as medication, if a person develops a disease or a tear in his nose, or a tear in his lip, or a defect in a tooth that needs repair, or a disease in his eye, or in his eyelid, or something similar, or in his ear; there is nothing wrong with it. …… He may do what removes the mark, or if there is darkness on his face, he may use medication to remove it. There is no harm in any of this; based on the hadith:
so treat yourselves medically, but use nothing unlawfulعباد الله تداووا ولا تداووا بحرام
Sunan Abi Dawud 3874Da'if (Al-Albani)
, and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Allah has not sent down a disease except that He has sent down a cure for it; those who know it know it, and those who do not know it do not know it.ما أنزل الله داءً إلا أنزل له شفاء، علمه من علمه وجهله من جهله
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 17:517
The point is that if he seeks treatment for a defect that has occurred in him, there is no harm in that. It is not from changing the creation of Allah. This is from medication, from seeking treatment. If something occurs in his hand, foot, or face that disfigures him, he seeks treatment for it, and there is no harm.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
