Question:
He says: After the Fajr prayer, I remain and I remember Allah, and I glorify Him according to what was reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): thirteen tasbih, one thousand times I seek forgiveness from Allah, and one thousand times I say ...?

The Shaykh : Repeat, repeat.

The presenter : He says: After the Fajr prayer, I remain and I remember Allah, and I glorify Him according to what was reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): thirteen tasbih, one thousand times I seek forgiveness from Allah, and one thousand times I say: There is no god but Allah, and one thousand times: Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. And after the 'Asr prayer, the same without interruption. And since I am consistent with them constantly, is this considered a religious innovation? I also have tasbih before sleep without interruption? May you have abundant thanks.

Answer:
Remembering Allah and glorifying Him and praising Him after Fajr and after 'Asr is prescribed, and Allah commanded this in many verses. So if a person glorifies Allah after Fajr until the sun rises, or after 'Asr until the sun sets, and does more than that, he owes nothing. Rather, it is a prescribed deed, and he has great good and a large reward in it if he concludes his day and begins his day with the remembrance of Allah, seeking His forgiveness, and repenting to Him. But there is no limited limit for this; rather, if he does more than that, praise be to Allah. As for the prescribed matter that was reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it is limited: he glorifies one hundred times at the beginning of the night and the beginning of the day, saying: Glory be to Allah and His praise, one hundred times, or Glory be to Allah the Great and His praise, morning and evening. This was reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and is authentic from him: that whoever glorifies Allah one hundred times, his sins are forgiven, even if they are like the sea. This is a favor from Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He).
And the meaning is, if he is safe from what prevents forgiveness, for the hadiths of virtues are qualified by the hadiths indicating that major sins prevent forgiveness. And if he does a lot of glorification of Allah, he has come with a good deed and much good, and he is upon good. But he must beware of persisting in major sins and disobedience. He must beware of disobedience and persisting in it, and repent to Allah from it so that it does not become a stone in the path of his repentance and seeking forgiveness. He should increase in seeking forgiveness and sincere repentance, and regret for what he did of sins, and not persist in them, so that his other deeds become an increase of good ... from remembrance and glorification and voluntary prayers, and voluntary fasting, which will be good for him along with what he has of great reward in performing the obligatory duties and leaving the forbidden things.
As for the adhkar, they are great good, and their virtue is large at the beginning of the day and the beginning of the night. Among that is his glorification one hundred times: Glory be to Allah and His praise, one hundred times. Among that is that he says: There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent, one hundred times. Every day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever says one hundered times each day: La ilaha illahu wahdahu la sharikalahu, wa lahul-mulku wa lahul hamduwa huwa ala kulli shayin qadeer (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, with no partner or associate. His is the dominion, all praise is to Him, and He is able to do all things), it will be equivalent to him freeing ten slavesمن قال في يومه مائة مرة: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيء قدير كانت له عدل عشر رقاب
Sunan Ibn Majah 3798Sahih (Darussalam)
, meaning it is equivalent to his freeing ten slaves, and Allah wrote for him one hundred good deeds, and erased from him one hundred bad deeds, and he was in protection from Satan on that day until he became evening, and no one came with better than what he came with except a man who did more than his deed. This was narrated by the two Shaykhs in the two Sahihs from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) .
And likewise the glorification after the prayers: Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, thirty-three times after every prayer: Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, thirty-three times, the total being ninety-nine, and he concludes the hundred by saying: There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent. This is recommended after every prayer, after Zuhr and 'Asr and Maghrib and 'Isha' and Fajr. And if he does more of glorification and declaring the oneness of Allah besides this, in the morning and in the evening, it is good for him, and it has no limited limit, rather there is great good and large virtue in it.
And it is also recommended that he remember Allah when he concludes the prayer. First, he seeks forgiveness from Allah three times, saying: O Allah, You are Peace and from You is peace. Blessed are You, O Owner of Majesty and Honor. When he concludes from every obligatory prayer: Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, 'Isha', and Fajr, the first thing he says when he concludes is: I seek forgiveness from Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah. O Allah, You are Peace and from You is peace. Blessed are You, O Owner of Majesty and Honor. Whether he is an imam, a ma'mum, or alone. Then he says: There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent. There is no power and no strength except by Allah. There is no god but Allah, and we worship none but Him. His is the blessing, and His is the favor, and His is the good praise. There is no god but Allah, we are sincere to Him in religion, even if the disbelievers dislike. O Allah, there is no one who can prevent what You have given, and there is no one who can give what You have prevented, and the wealth of the wealthy does not benefit him from You. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do this after every prayer (peace and blessings be upon him), after every prayer of the five prayers, he used to do this (peace and blessings be upon him). And the imam, when he seeks forgiveness three times and says: O Allah, You are Peace and from You is peace. Blessed are You, O Owner of Majesty and Honor, he turns to the people and gives them his face. This is the Sunnah, then he completes this dhikr.
Then he comes with the glorification and praise and takbir thirty-three times as mentioned before, and he concludes the hundred by saying: There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent. All of this is prescribed. And he increases in Maghrib and Fajr ten times: There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion, and His is the praise, He gives life and causes death, and He is over all things competent, ten times. This came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from several hadiths (peace and blessings be upon him) in Fajr and Maghrib. And he also says after every prayer, he recites Ayat al-Kursi:
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
[al-Baqarah:255]. This is Ayat al-Kursi, and it is the greatest verse in the Book of Allah (may He be exalted) . It is recommended to come with it after every prayer, and at sleep as well.
And likewise he recites after every prayer:
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[al-Ikhlas:1], and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreakقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ
[al-Falaq:1], and
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
[al-Nas:1], after Zuhr and 'Asr and Maghrib and 'Isha' and Fajr. But it is recommended that he repeat them after Maghrib and after Fajr three times. All of these three surahs three times after Fajr and after Maghrib. As for after Zuhr and 'Asr and 'Isha', once. All of this is prescribed, and it is among the causes of the pleasure of Allah and the greatness of His reward (may He be exalted) . So if the believer and the believing woman maintain that, there is great good in it, and a large reward, and following the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and acting according to his Sunnah (peace and blessings be upon him). We ask Allah for all of you success and guidance. Yes.

The presenter : O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
