Question:
Your Eminence! This questioner from Syria says in her question: that she is consistent with some dhikr daily, for example: she says: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" (There is no power nor might except in Allah) one hundred times, and "Hasbunallahu wa ni'ma al-wakil" (Allah is sufficient for us and He is the best Disposer of affairs) similarly, and "Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan Allahi al-Azim" (Glory be to Allah and His praise, Glory be to Allah the Magnificent) similarly, "O Allah, forgive me and my parents and the believing men and women," and "La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah, lah al-mulk wa lah al-hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir" (There is no god but Allah alone, without partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs the praise, and He is over all things capable), she says: and I send blessings upon the Chosen One similarly, and I also say: "O my Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Oft-Forgiving, the Merciful." What is the validity of this? May you be rewarded.
The Shaykh:
Increasing in dhikr is required at all times, especially in the morning and evening. Tasbih, tahlil, tahmid, takbir, seeking forgiveness, and supplication in the morning and evening are prescribed. Allah, Exalted and Majestic, praised His servants for this. He, the Exalted, said:[Q:39], He said: [Ar-Rum:17]. So the person is commanded to increase in the remembrance of Allah in the morning and evening. It is established in the authentic hadiths the exhortation to this and the encouragement of this. But the number that was transmitted: it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: .
Meaning: if one avoids the major sins, as in the other hadiths, it is recommended that a person say in the morning and evening: "Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi" (Glory be to Allah and His praise), or "Subhan Allahi al-Azim wa bihamdihi" (Glory be to Allah the Magnificent and His praise) one hundred times in the morning and evening. Similarly, he remembers Allah one hundred times every day. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih al-Bukhari 6403, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Riyad as-Salihin 1411.
So it is prescribed for the believing man and woman to increase in the remembrance of Allah, and in tasbih, tahlil, and supplication. It is recommended that this dhikr be done one hundred times every day: "La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah, lah al-mulk wa lah al-hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir" (There is no god but Allah alone, without partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs the praise, and He is over all things capable) one hundred times. And if he increases beyond that to hundreds of times, he is upon good. And so "Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi" (Glory be to Allah and His praise) one hundred times in the morning and evening, and if he increases beyond that, it is all good. But if he does the one hundred mentioned in the hadith, and if he glorifies much and remembers Allah much in his times, in his night and day, it is all good. Allah, Exalted and Majestic, says:[Al-Ahzab 33:41] and glorify Him in the morning and the evening[Al-Ahzab:41-42], and He, Exalted and Majestic, says: [Al-Ahzab 33:35] until He, the Exalted, said: [Al-Ahzab:35].
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Ibn Majah 3806Sahih (Darussalam), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 2137a, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan an-Nasa'i 924Hasan (Darussalam).
And a Bedouin came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Teach me something that will benefit me." He said:Riyad as-Salihin 1414, so the Bedouin said: "O Messenger of Allah! This is for my Lord, so what is for me?" He said: Sahih Muslim 2696 narrated by Muslim in the Sahih. Yes.

and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting,
So exalted is Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning.
Whoever says when he goes to sleep and when he wakes up: "Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi" (Glory be to Allah and His praise) one hundred times, his sins will be removed from him even if they are like the foam of the sea.
He who utters ten times: 'La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahulmulku wa lahulhamdu, wa Huwa 'ala kulli sha'in Qadir (there is no true god except Allah. He is One and He has no partner with Him. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent),' he will have a reward equal to that for freeing four slaves from the progeny of Prophet Isma'il.
So it is prescribed for the believing man and woman to increase in the remembrance of Allah, and in tasbih, tahlil, and supplication. O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance
Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women
إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْقَانِتِينَ وَالْقَانِتَاتِand the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so - for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Two words which are light on the tongue and heavy in the Balance, and beloved to the Most Merciful: Subhan-Allah wa bi hamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-'Azim (Glory and praise is to Allah, glory is to Allah the Almighty).
The dearest phrases to Allah are four: Subhan Allah (Hallowed be Allah), Al-Hamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), La ilaha illa-Allah (There is no deity but Allah), Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greater).
أحب الكلام إلى الله أربع: سبحان الله، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله، والله أكبرSubhanAllah, wal-hamdulilah, wa la illaha ill-Allah, wa Allahu Akbar, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa Billahil-aliy al-azim (Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is none worthy of worship except Allah, Allah is Most Great, and there is no power and no strength except with Allah the Exalted and Magnificent )
And a Bedouin came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Teach me something that will benefit me." He said:
Say: "La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu; Allahu Akbar kabiran, wal-hamdu lillahi kathiran, wa subhan-Allahi Rabbil-'alamin; wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil-'Azizil-Hakim (there is no true god except Allah the One and He has no partner with Him; Allah is the Greatest and greatness is for Him. All praise is due to Him. Allah, the Rubb of the worlds is free from imperfection; there is no might and power but that of Allah, the All-Powerful and the All-Wise.)"
You should say:" O Allah, grant me pardon, have mercy upon me, direct me to righteousness and provide me sustenance."
