Expiation of Sins and Removal of Sins through Fear and Dread of Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Our brother mentions a hadith narrated by al-Tabarani and al-Bayhaqi with a weak chain, in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When the skin of the servant shudders in fear of Allahإذا اقشعر جلد العبد مخافة الله 
, his sins fell off him as leaves fall from a dry tree?
The answer: I know nothing about this hadith and have not seen it, but fear of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is among the greatest causes for the expiation of sins and the removal of transgressions. Allah the Exalted said:
But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens -وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ
[Ar-Rahman: 46]. He (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward.إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَيْبِ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ
[Al-Mulk: 12]. Fear of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He), dread of Him, and being conscious of His presence are among the greatest causes for the removal of transgressions and the forgiveness of sins. Likewise, hoping in Him, loving Him (Glorified and Exalted is He), and hastening to do what pleases Him; all of this is among the causes for the forgiveness of sins. As He (Exalted and Majestic is He) said about His righteous servants, the prophets and their followers:
Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.إنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخيراتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ
[Al-Anbiya: 90]. Therefore, it is fitting for the believing man and woman to take care of the causes of fear of Allah and humility, and to take care of hoping in Him (Glorified and Exalted is He), having good opinion of Him, and loving Him sincere love, which entails obeying His commands, leaving His prohibitions, and standing by His limits. All of this is among the causes of forgiveness.
And the believer must proceed toward Allah between two things: fear and hope. He fears Allah and hopes in Him, with sincerity to Allah in that, and love and magnification, and standing by the limits. This is the path of salvation and the path of happiness. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
