The ruling on one who missed staying overnight at Muzdalifah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We return to a message sent by the listener Abu Abdullah from al-Zulfi, containing a set of questions. He says: Last year, we did not stay overnight at Muzdalifah because we had with us five elderly women and four men. Is there anything required of us in this matter, O Shaykh?
Answer:
One who does not stay overnight at Muzdalifah owes a sacrificial animal, which is slaughtered in Makkah for the poor; because staying overnight there is obligatory. So if one leaves it off intentionally or out of negligence, he owes a sacrificial animal; because that is how it is with the obligatory: if an obligatory act is left off, a sacrificial animal is due. It is slaughtered in Makkah for the poor. Staying overnight at Muzdalifah is obligatory, except for one who finds it difficult because he was prevented from doing so by the crowd when they were departing from 'Arafah, and it did not become easy for him because of the heavy crowd until the time passed; then he is excused.
The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, Your Eminence the Shaykh.
