The Ruling on Offering the Recitation of Al-Fatihah to the Soul of the Deceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
It has several issues, as I mentioned previously, Your Eminence, among which is that she asks about the validity of a number of matters, including the following: Reciting Al-Fatihah for the soul of the deceased, as many people do?

Answer:
There is no basis for this. Reciting Al-Fatihah for the deceased... there is no basis for this; this is the correct view. Rather, one should supplicate for the deceased for forgiveness, mercy, entry into Paradise, and salvation from the Fire. One should give charity on his behalf, perform Hajj on his behalf, and perform 'Umrah on his behalf. This is what is established in the texts. As for reciting the Qur'an for him and transferring the reward to him, there is no basis for this. This is the correct view. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
