The Meaning of Surat al-Ikhlas Being Equivalent to One-Third of the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner, Muhammad Ismail, in his second question says: The hadith: When a person recites Surat:
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[Surat al-Ikhlas:1], Surat al-Ikhlas three times, it is as if he recited the Qur'an. Is this correct? And what is the virtue of this surah, O Shaykh?

Answer:
Yes, it is correct, and it is equivalent to one-third of the Qur'an by the explicit text of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). However, one who recites the Qur'an in its entirety is more complete in terms of reflecting upon the Qur'an and the benefit derived from it. But reciting it three times is equivalent to a complete recitation (khatmah) in terms of reward. As for the benefits, reflection, and understanding, there is no doubt that the one who recites the Qur'an has another level of perfection and another level of virtue due to the abundance of benefit. Yes.
