What is the time for standing in night prayer? And what is the recommended practice regarding recitation in it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He has a lot to say as well. I understood that he is asking about the late-night voluntary prayer (tahajjud): at what time of the night should one stand, and should one recite the long surahs, or whatever is easy, or recite the short surahs? Please direct him to us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Tahajjud at night is a recommended practice (sunnah), and standing in night prayer is a recommended practice (sunnah). Allah said regarding the servants of Rahman, describing them:
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]وَالَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًا وَقِيَامًا
[Al-Furqan: 64], and Allah said to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
(1) O you who wraps himself [in clothing], (2) Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little - (3) Half of it - or subtract from it a littleيَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ ۝ قُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۝ نِصْفَهُ أَوِ انْقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا
[Al-Muzzammil: 1-3], the verses.
The point is: standing in night prayer is a recommended practice (sunnah). In the authentic hadith,
The best prayer is standing in night prayerأفضل الصلاة قيام الليل
One is given a choice: if he wishes, he prays in the first part of the night; if he wishes, he prays in the middle; and if he wishes, he prays in the last part. However, the best is in the last part of the night, if it is easy, if he is able. If he fears that he will not get up in the last part of the night, the recommended practice (sunnah) is to make the prayer odd-numbered (witr) in the first part of the night, as mentioned in the answer to the previous question. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
