Advice for One Afflicted by Fear

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
After this, a message was sent by one of the female listeners. Our sister complains of a psychological condition and says, the sender (A. M.) says about herself: I am a girl afflicted with fear, and I cannot sleep in a room alone, and I also cannot go to a place or attend to a need unless someone accompanies me. I have heard that fear has a specific effect on faith. Is this true? And what do you advise me to do so that this condition is removed from me? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We advise you to increase your recitation of the Verse of the Throne after every prayer and when going to sleep, and to recite
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and the two chapters of protection (al-Mu'awwidhatayn) after every prayer, and three times after the Fajr and Maghrib prayers. You should also increase saying: “I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created,” and saying: “In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth or in the sky can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing,” three times. This is because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
three times, nothing will harm him during that day or that night.من قالها ثلاث مرات لم يضره شيء
Musnad Ahmad 474Hasan (Darussalam)
And he said:
When anyone lands at a place, and then says:" I seek refuge in the Perfect Word of Allah from the evil of what He has created," nothing would harm him until he marches from that stopping place.من نزل منزلًا فقال: أعوذ بكلمات الله التامات من شر ما خلق لم يضره شيء حتى يرتحل من منزله ذلك
Sahih Muslim 2708a
, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever recites Say, He is Allah, the One, and the two chapters of protection in the morning and evening three times, they are sufficient for himمن قرأ قل هو الله أحد والمعوذتين صباحًا ومساءً ثلاث مرات فإنها تكفيه
or as he said, (peace and blessings be upon him).
The point is that we advise you to adopt these means, and by doing so, the fear will be removed from you, with the permission of Allah.
