Supplication in Times of Fear and Shyness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: A questioner who is eighteen years old feels fear and shyness and is unable to sit with people. He seeks guidance. Are there any supplications that affect this condition that he experiences and suffers from greatly, as he says?

A: This is from Shaytan. He should seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan, and he should be aware that he is a man among men, and that there is no reason for this fear and this shyness. He is a man who sits with men, walks with men, speaks, and prays with them, so there is no reason for this timidity and this fear. However, what can be sought as aid in this is: "Seeking refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created," three times in the morning and evening, and saying:
Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'a ismihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i wa Huwas-Sami'ul-'Alimبسم الله الذي لا يضر مع اسمه شيء في الأرض ولا في السماء وهو السميع العليم
Sunan Ibn Majah 3869
three times in the morning and evening. For this is among the causes of his safety from all evil, as the authentic hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) confirm.
And among the treatments is his recitation of the Verse of the Throne after every prayer, and recitation of the two verses from the end of Surat al-Baqarah every night:
The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believersآمَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ
[al-Baqarah: 285], to the end of the surah, and his recitation of:
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
and the two chapters of seeking refuge (al-Mu'awwidhatayn) after every obligatory prayer, once after Zuhr, 'Asr, and 'Isha, and three times after Maghrib and Fajr. All of this is among the causes of safety and the removal of fears.
