What are the causes of presence of heart and tranquility in prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The first message in this episode is from one of our brother listeners. The sender is Abu 'Azam from Makkah al-Mukarramah. Abu 'Azam has three issues about which he wrote at length. I have summarized what he wrote regarding the first issue: he complains of a lack of tranquility in his prayer, to the point that he sometimes recites al-Fatihah in place of the tashahhud. So what do you advise him to do in order to gain tranquility in his prayer? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows, I advise my brother Abu 'Azam to turn to Allah in his prayer and to be conscious that he is in the presence of Allah, and that this prayer is the pillar of Islam and the greatest of the obligatory acts after the two testimonies. If he keeps this in mind, then Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, will help him with tranquility, humility, and not forgetting. And Allah, Exalted and Majestic is He, says:
if you fear Allah, He will grant you a criterionإِنْ تَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ فُرْقَانًا
[Al-Anfal: 29], and He says, Glorified is He:
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[Al-Taghabun: 16], and He says, Glorified is He:
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way outوَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا
[Al-Talaq: 2],
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him of his matter ease.وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ يُسْرًا
[Al-Talaq: 4]. So the advice is to fear Allah, to turn to the prayer, to bring the heart into the presence of Allah, and to seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan. If the whispers overcome him, he should spit to his left three times and say: "I seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan" three times, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught Uthman ibn Abi al-'As. He did so, and Allah removed the whispers of Shaytan from him.
The point is that he should seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan and spit to his left three times if the whispers become numerous for him, and that he should gather his heart for Allah, being conscious that he is in the presence of Allah and that he is conversing with his Lord. He should keep in mind the greatness of Allah and that it is obligatory to fear Him and magnify Him, until this preoccupation that distracts him is removed from him. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good. Is it obligatory for him to perform the prostration for forgetfulness if this state happens to him again, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : It is not obligatory for him to perform the prostration for forgetfulness unless he forgets an obligatory act or does something forbidden. As for mere whispers, if they do not result in leaving an obligatory act or doing something forbidden, they do no harm. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
