Question:
The first message in this episode was sent to the program from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Karak. The sender, one of the sisters, says: Your sister in Allah, Amal. Our sister has a set of questions, one of which is: Is it permissible to delay prayer when feeling extreme fatigue until I rest so that I can perfect my prayer? And is it permissible to repeat the prayer if there is much distraction in it and lack of focus? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon His Messenger, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
It is prescribed for the believer to come to prayer with a present, humble heart, and to devote himself to it so that he performs it with the utmost care, devotion to it, sincerity for Allah, and humility in it, as Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Mu'minun: 1-2], and in the authentic hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 2:337.
It is obligatory for the believer, male or female, to take care of the prayer, to complete it, and to perfect its bowing and prostration.
However, if one is tired at the beginning of the time, there is no harm in resting; in fact, it is better for him to rest, even if he prays during the time, because if he prays during the time, even at the end of it, with rest, tranquility, and humility, that is better than praying without humility or tranquility. But he must not delay it until the time expires; it must be performed within the time. So, delaying it to the middle of the time, or the end of the time, for a legitimate need such as fatigue, severe illness, or the like, is permissible, and praise be to Allah.
But he must take care to complete it, perfect it, and maintain tranquility in it, whenever he performs it. Tranquility is necessary; tranquility is a pillar in it, and it is mandatory.
As for perfect humility and perfect care, that is better. But tranquility—bowing with tranquility, prostrating with tranquility, sitting between the two prostrations with tranquility, and straightening up after bowing with tranquility—this is mandatory, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the one who performed his prayer poorly to repeat it because he neglected this tranquility.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called the one who neglected this a thief, saying:Sunan ad-Darimi 2:139 It was said: O Messenger of Allah! How does he steal his prayer? He said: Muwatta Malik 9:80.
The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
