Ruling on going to a distant mosque and leaving the nearby one because of the large number of worshippers

Question:
After this, a message from the listener Muhammad At-Tahir Hakim from Yanbu. The brother Muhammad asks and says: A man prays in the mosque next to his home, taking into account the right of the neighbor, and a man prays in the large mosque far from his home, leaving this nearby mosque with the intention of gaining more reward, considering the large number of people there and that the more steps one takes, the greater the reward. So we ask now: Who is the one with the greater reward? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
There is no doubt that the one who comes to the distant mosque and endures the fatigue will have a greater reward. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The greatest of people in reward for prayer are those who are farthest, and the farthest are those who walk the most.إن أعظم الناس في الصلاة أجرًا أبعدهم فأبعدهم ممشى
. But if the prayer in the nearby mosque gathers the people and admonishes them and reminds them... then his prayer with them is more preferable. As for if he is not missed and the mosque is not affected by his absence, and he wants the reward of the steps, then he is on the right path—if Allah wills—and this hadith is:
The greatest of people in reward for prayer are those who are farthest, and the farthest are those who walk the most.إن أعظم الناس في الصلاة أجرًا أبعدهم فأبعدهم ممشى
.

The presenter : We seek help from Allah. May Allah reward you with good.
