It is not permissible for any Muslim to invoke the attributes of Allah, according to all scholars, such as saying: O Face of Allah, or O Knowledge of Allah, or O Mercy of Allah, or the like. Rather, it is obligatory to invoke Him (Glorified and Exalted is He) by His beautiful names; for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :[Al-A'raf 7:180] the verse [al-A'raf: 180]. So one should say: O Allah, O Most Merciful, O Most Compassionate, and the like.
It is recommended to seek nearness to Allah through His attributes, saying: O Allah, I ask You by Your greatness, or by Your great power, or by Your forbearance, and the like. And success is from Allah.
