Ruling on Wearing Transparent Clothing in Front of Mahrams

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What about transparent clothing?
Answer: Transparent clothing is not permissible. Transparency is dangerous because it may expose the awrah (the part of the body that must be covered). However, if it is transparent only on the arm, that is easy, provided the body is covered. Clothing should be covering and thick, not revealing the beauty of the flesh behind it, such as the redness or whiteness of the skin, or the like. Rather, it should cover this. It should be worn under the light garment, such as a vest that helps with this, or similar items. The point is that transparency is like being naked; transparency is of the same kind as nakedness. One should be careful to avoid this and not be lax in this matter.
