The Shaykh : in

The questioner : A transparent garment

The Shaykh : Yes, praying in a transparent garment is permissible if there are trousers underneath that cover the area between the navel and the knee. If there is nothing underneath, it is not permissible; it is not permissible to wear it in prayer or outside of prayer, because covering the 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered) is necessary. Allah the Exalted said:
O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid يَا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ
[Al-A'raf 7:31]
And as for the transparent garment, even if a person wears it without intending to display adornment, what is the benefit if it is transparent? Its presence is like its absence. Do you understand now? What is the answer?

The questioner : It is not permissible.

The questioner : Unless he is wearing trousers that cover the area between the navel and the knee. Do you understand?
