Ruling on performing the regular voluntary prayers for a traveler who prays behind a resident

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
All right! Is he required, or is it obligatory for him, to perform the regular voluntary prayers if he prays with those who complete the prayer?

Answer: If he prays with those who complete the prayer, it is better for him to perform the regular voluntary prayers; because he has taken on the ruling of residents. So he prays the regular voluntary prayers, and if he leaves them off, there is nothing wrong with it. But if he completes the prayer, it is better to perform the regular voluntary prayers. If he shortens the prayer, it is better to leave off the regular voluntary prayers for the midday and night prayers. As for the dawn prayer, its recommended practice is established for both travel and residence. Likewise, the witr prayer: the traveler performs witr and prays the recommended practice of the dawn prayer. As for the recommended practice of the sunset prayer, the recommended practice of the midday prayer, and the recommended practice of the night prayer, it is better for travelers to leave them off if they shorten the prayer.
