Doubt Regarding the Number of Circumambulations

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This letter does not mention the name of its author. He says: What is the ruling on doubt regarding the circumambulation (tawaf)? Is it complete, incomplete, or excessive? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
Answer: Doubt regarding the circumambulation is like doubt regarding the prayer. If one doubts whether he performed two or three circuits, he counts them as two. If he doubts whether he performed three or four, he counts them as three. If he doubts whether he performed six or seven, he counts them as six and performs the seventh. That is, he builds upon certainty until he completes the seven with certainty. This is what is obligatory upon him.
