Doubt during tawaf regarding the breaking of wudu'

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 20859 )
Q: I performed Hajj this year as an individual pilgrim (ifrad). During the arrival tawaf, I felt the presence of pre-seminal fluid (madhi). Out of doubt and lack of certainty, and also based on the opinion that ritual purity is not a condition for tawaf, I completed my tawaf. After finishing, I went to the bathroom to check the matter and renew my ablution so that I could pray two rak'ahs behind the Maqam and complete the sa'y of Hajj. I found no trace of anything. I do not know if the madhi did not occur at all, or if it occurred and dried up. Please advise us, may Allah preserve you, about the ruling on this tawaf and whether I owe anything? May Allah reward you with good. And in the farewell tawaf, I did not combine it with the tawaf of ifadah. Rather, I performed the tawaf of ifadah separately. The same thing happened, the same as what happened during the arrival tawaf. I remembered entering the bathroom after the arrival tawaf and not finding anything, so I relied on certainty and completed the farewell tawaf. I prayed two rak'ahs behind the Maqam, and after finishing, I also entered the bathroom but did not find any trace. Please advise us, may Allah have mercy on you, and may Allah reward you with good.
A: If you began the tawaf in a state of certain ritual purity, and then you doubted during the tawaf whether your wudu' had been broken, and you completed the tawaf, then your tawaf is valid. This is because the purity is certain, while the thing that breaks it is doubtful, and certainty is not removed by doubt. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to the one who doubts whether a state of ritual impurity occurred during prayer:
Do not leave until he hears a sound or finds a smell of windألا ينصرف حتى يسمع صوتًا أو يجد ريحًا
As for the farewell tawaf,
it is permissible to intend it together with the tawaf of ifadah if one travels immediately afterward, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
and every person will get the reward according to what he has intendedوإنما لكل امرئ ما نوى
Sahih al-Bukhari 1
And because it is true to say that it is his last visit to the House. However, if his travel is delayed after the tawaf of ifadah, then the farewell tawaf is obligatory at the time of travel. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
