The Ruling on Sacrificing a Pregnant Animal

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! We begin first with a message from the listener (A. H. M. D.) Zaharani from al-Qunfudhah. The summary of his message says: Does a sacrificial animal that is pregnant with a fetus suffice, given that the one who slaughtered it did not know, and the imam of the festival prayer gave a sermon stating that it does not suffice?
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
The sacrificial animal that has a fetus in its womb suffices without a doubt. The preacher who said that it does not suffice is mistaken and has erred. A cow, a camel, or a sheep from the category of sheep, whether a ewe or a goat, if it has a fetus in its womb, it suffices without a doubt. The one who preached that it does not suffice has erred and said something for which he has no proof. I do not know of any scholar who has said this; rather, it is a pure error. Yes.
