His other question says: What is the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [al-Nahl:123]? And what are the reasons that divided the Muslims into several schools of jurisprudence? Please inform us about that, may Allah reward you with good for us?
The answer: Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) commands His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to follow the religion of Ibrahim, in sincerity to Allah and the oneness of worship, in magnifying His command and prohibition, and in turning away from the mushrikin (those who associate partners with Allah), and in being hostile to them and hating them for the sake of Allah . Likewise, the ummah (the Muslim community) is commanded to do this; all of them are commanded to worship Allah alone: [al-Anbiya:92].. [al-Fatihah:5].. [al-Bayyinah:5].. [al-Isra:23], up to verses like these. And Allah created the creation to worship Him alone, having no partner, and He commanded them to do so, and He sent the messengers (peace be upon them) to call people to the oneness of worship of Allah and sincerity to Him.
Therefore, it is obligatory for all the inhabitants of the earth, whether jinn or humans, Arabs or non-Arabs, rich or poor, male or female; it is obligatory for all of them to worship Allah alone, and to single Him out with their supplication, their fear, their hope, their prayers, their fasting, their charity, and the rest of their acts of worship, for He is the one who is worthy of them : [al-Fatihah:5], and it is not permissible for them to worship any other deity with Him, neither a near angel nor a sent prophet. It is also not permissible for them to worship the people of the graves, to call for aid from them, or to give them assistance, or to make vows for them, or to slaughter for them, nor to worship idols, trees, stones, or stars. No! All of this is invalid; it is all shirk (associating partners with Allah) with Allah .
It is obligatory for both groups (jinn and humans) to worship Allah alone, singling Him out (Glorified is He) with all acts of worship, such as fear, hope, fasting, prayer, charity, slaughter, vows, and others. And it is obligatory for the entire community to understand this in Islamic jurisprudence, and to focus on this matter. Among the most important matters is caring for the Great Qur'an; for it is the Book of Allah, containing guidance and light, and it clarifies this matter, and it makes clear that worship is the right of Allah alone. So all Muslims should focus on the Book of Allah, and reflect upon it and understand it.
And so the Sunnah of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) came with the clarification of this matter, and that worship is the right of Allah alone. So the people of Islam should magnify Allah and worship Him alone, apart from everything else, and they should convey that to people. And their scholars, especially, should convey to the ignorant what is hidden from them, and teach them and guide them until they are upright upon the religion of Allah, and until they worship Allah alone. And they should also convey the religion of Allah to other people, by the possible ways and means, just as the messengers (peace and blessings be upon them) conveyed it.
As for the disagreement among the inhabitants of the earth, it has many reasons. The harmful disagreement is what relates to the fundamentals. As for the jurisprudential issues, the disagreement among people in them is a reality. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified what is obligatory in this, and that the obligatory thing is independent legal reasoning and seeking the truth, and referring what people dispute to Allah and the Messenger. And as He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: [al-Nisa:59].
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Ibn Majah 2314. So the branch issues are where disagreement and confusion occur. And the Muslims should, in case of disagreement, refer them to the Book and the Sunnah. So whatever the Book and the Sunnah indicate, it is obligatory to take it, hold fast to it, and return to it, rather than what contradicts it. Yes.
to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah.
