Machine translationRead the Arabic original
You also say: How is the sending of blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from Allah? And how is the servant's sending of blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), may Allah guide you?
Answer: The sending of blessings from Allah is His praise of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him); His praise of him among the angels. Allah's sending of blessings upon the servant is Allah's praise of him in the highest assembly and His mercy toward him by guiding him in this world or admitting him to Paradise in the Hereafter. This is part of His sending of blessings upon him, but most of it is praise. Allah's sending of blessings is the praise of the servant in the highest assembly. As for the sending of blessings by the servants upon him, it is supplication for him and seeking mercy for him. Their sending of blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) means that they pray as commanded and explained to them: "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Majestic. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Majestic." This is the known Ibrahimic prayer, and it has various forms that came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) through the route of Ka'b ibn Ujrah, through the route of Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari, and through other routes. So one prays as it came in the prayers from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the authentic hadiths. We send blessings upon him as the sending of blessings upon him (peace and blessings be upon him) came in many forms. This is the Sunnah.
