Is supplication after the obligatory prayer a recommended practice or a religious innovation?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Is supplication after the obligatory prayer a recommended practice or a religious innovation, as some people told me?
Answer: Supplication after the obligatory prayers is between you and your Lord, and there is nothing wrong with it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to make supplication, so there is nothing wrong if you make supplication after the obligatory prayer, following the prescribed dhikr. It is better, more complete, and more likely to be answered if you make supplication at the end of the prayer, before the taslim. However, this should not be done by raising the hands or by collective supplication. No, it is between you and your Lord, without raising the hands after the obligatory prayer. This is because it is not reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands after the obligatory prayer, nor that the Companions raised their hands, nor that they raised them collectively, nor that they made collective supplication. No, but a person may make supplication between himself and his Lord after finishing the dhikr, and there is nothing wrong with that and no blame on him, in both the obligatory and voluntary prayers.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
