The Ruling on Reciting the Post-Friday Prayer Dhikr in a Collective Voice

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner asks and says: On Friday, after the imam says the taslim and we say it after him, he recites Ayat al-Kursi, then he glorifies Allah, praises Him, and magnifies Him, and we do the same behind him. Then he raises his hands in supplication, and we do so with him. Then we recite Surat al-Fatihah. Is there anything wrong with our doing this, or is it obligatory for each individual to conclude the prayer alone, without concluding it with the imam? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
This practice is a bid'ah (religious innovation) and is not permissible. It is not from the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for you to all begin with Ayat al-Kursi after the taslim, then all glorify Allah, then raise your hands. All of this has no basis; it is a bid'ah (religious innovation).
The Sunnah, when the imam says the taslim, and likewise the ma'mum (one praying behind the imam), and likewise the one praying alone, is for everyone after the taslim to say: "I seek forgiveness from Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah. O Allah, You are Peace, and from You is peace. Blessed are You, O Owner of Majesty and Honor." This is how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do it; he would begin with this, then turn to the people (peace and blessings be upon him) and say:
There is no deity but Allah alone, having no partner. His is the dominion, and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent. There is no power and no strength except by Allah. There is no deity but Allah, and we worship none but Him. His is the grace, and His is the favor, and His is the good praise. There is no deity but Allah, sincere to Him in our religion, even if the disbelievers should be displeased. O Allah, there is no one who can prevent what You have given, and there is no one who can give what You have withheld, and the wealth of the wealthy does not benefit him against You.
Sahih Muslim 594a
.
This is the Sunnah for the imam, the ma'mum (one praying behind the imam), and the one praying alone after the taslim of the five obligatory prayers. It is not prescribed to raise the hands in this situation. Each person remembers Allah by himself; there is no collective dhikr (remembrance of Allah). Each person... the imam remembers Allah to himself, and the ma'mum (one praying behind the imam) likewise. Each person remembers Allah to himself as Allah has prescribed.
As for everyone doing it in a collective voice, this is from the bid'ah (religious innovations). Or beginning with Ayat al-Kursi; this is contrary to the Sunnah. Rather, one begins with seeking forgiveness three times and says:
"O Allah, You are As-Salam, and from you is As-Salam. You are blessed, O One of Magnificence and Generosity."اللهم أنت السلام، ومنك السلام، تباركت يا ذا الجلال والإكرام
Sunan Abi Dawud 1512Sahih (Al-Albani)
This is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the hadith of Thawban. It is also established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) in the hadith of Ibn al-Zubayr, and in the hadith of al-Mughirah, that he used to say after that:
There is no deity but Allah alone, having no partner. His is the dominion, and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent. There is no power and no strength except by Allah. There is no deity but Allah, and we worship none but Him. His is the grace, and His is the favor, and His is the good praise. There is no deity but Allah, sincere to Him in our religion, even if the disbelievers should be displeased. O Allah, there is no one who can prevent what You have given, and there is no one who can give what You have withheld, and the wealth of the wealthy does not benefit him against You.
Sahih Muslim 594a
Ibn al-Zubayr narrated some of these dhikr (remembrances).
