Hitting a person with a car and then fleeing without knowing his fate: what is required of him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
After this, a message was received for the program from Jeddah, sent by a listener who used the initials (A. A. H) instead of his name. He says: "While I was driving my car on a long stretch of road, and I was speeding, a person appeared from the side of the road to cross the street. I did not take evasive action, and he collided with the side of the car with a violent impact. Due to my fear and my ignorance of how to handle such a situation, I fled. I do not know how the accident turned out; did the person die or was he safe? I hope he was safe. Please advise me, may Allah reward you with good, because my conscience is paining me now. What should I do? The person is still unidentified, and approximately seven years have passed. Please guide me, may Allah reward you with good?"

Answer:
It is obligatory for you to repent to Allah, the Exalted, for the speeding and for fleeing from the accident. You must repent to Allah for that with sincere regret and the firm resolve not to return to it. You must also strive to search for the man to the best of your ability. If you learn that he died, you must pay his blood money (diyah), and you must perform the expiation (kaffarah). If he was safe, then praise be to Allah. Three things are obligatory upon you:
The first thing: repentance, regret, abandoning the act, and the resolve not to return to it; because speeding is not permissible. Rather, it is obligatory for the believer to travel on the roads in a manner that is free from danger to himself and to others.
The second thing: to strive to search for him and find out what happened to him.
The third thing: to fulfill the right when you know that he died. You must pay the blood money (diyah) and perform the expiation (kaffarah). If he suffered something less than death, you must pay what is required of the treating doctor's fees, and other things that are obligatory. We ask Allah for guidance for us and for you. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
