The Ruling on a Woman Responding to an Invitation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it obligatory for women to respond to invitations? Because I read that whoever does not respond to an invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger, or as he said (peace and blessings be upon him), especially if the invitation is for the wedding of relatives or friends, and there will be some errors at this wedding. If we do not go, there will be problems between the families. Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The evidence is general; the hadiths are general regarding the obligation of the invitation and the obligation to respond, provided that there is no evil in it. If a woman is invited to a wedding feast or a wedding, it is obligatory for her to respond, provided that her husband agrees and is pleased, and that she goes out covered and veiled, far from fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), and that there is no fitnah at the place of the invitation, but rather the place of the invitation is safe and free from fitnah. In that case, responding to the invitation is obligatory. However, if her husband is not pleased and does not permit it, she does not go out except with his permission. Or if there is danger on the road, she also does not go out. Or if there is danger at the place of the invitation—fitnah, such as the free mixing of men and women, or evils at the place of the invitation—then she does not go out. And so it is for the man. Yes.
