The Duration of a Woman's Menstruation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister says: I read in one of the fiqh books that when a girl reaches puberty for the first time, she stops praying for one day and one night, then she performs the full ritual bath and prays, even if the blood is still present, and she continues in this state for three months until the duration of her menstruation becomes stable. Is this correct?

Answer:
This is the opinion of some scholars, but it is not correct. The correct ruling is that she does not pray during the days on which she sees blood, whether two, three, four, five, six, or seven days, up to fifteen days; there is no harm in this. Likewise, whenever her period comes, she sits and does not pray, does not fast, and her husband does not approach her if she is married, until the duration ends.
She has no fixed limit of one day or two days, but its maximum duration, according to the majority of scholars, is fifteen days. If it exceeds that, it becomes irregular non-menstrual bleeding and defective blood, and she reverts to the custom of women, which is six or seven days. As for if it stops after six, seven, eight, or ten days, then praise be to Allah, that is her custom, and she does not pray, does not fast, and her husband does not approach her. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
