The Dhikr Recited After the Obligatory Prayers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A second question from our brother, in which he asks: What are the dhikr and supplications that a Muslim recites after the Maghrib and Fajr prayers?

Answer:
The Sunnah after all five prayers is to seek Allah’s forgiveness three times when one says the taslim, and to say:
"O Allah, You are As-Salam, and from you is As-Salam. You are blessed, O One of Magnificence and Generosity."
Sunan Abi Dawud 1512Sahih (Al-Albani)
This applies to everyone, the imam, the ma’mum, and the one praying alone; each person, when he says the taslim, says:
O Allah, You are As-Salam, and from you is As-Salam. You are blessed, O One of Magnificence and Generosity.
Sunan Abi Dawud 1512Sahih (Al-Albani)
This applies to men and women, and to the imam, the ma’mum, and the one praying alone. When the imam finishes this, he turns to the people; when the imam finishes this, he turns to the people, gives them his attention, and completes the dhikr.
Then, after this, every person, whether the imam, the ma’mum, or the one praying alone, says:
There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent. There is no power and no strength except by Allah. There is no god but Allah, and we worship none but Him. His is the favor, His is the grace, and His is the good reputation. There is no god but Allah, we are sincere to Him in religion, even if the disbelievers dislike it. O Allah, there is no one who can prevent what You have given, and there is no one who can give what You have withheld, and no possessor of wealth can benefit You with his wealth.
Sahih Muslim 594a
in all five prayers, for men and women, and for the imam, the ma’mum, and the one praying alone. In Maghrib and Fajr, it is recommended to add to this by saying:
None has the right to be worshipped by Allah, Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him belongs the praise, [He gives life and causes death,] and He has power over all thingsلا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك، وله الحمد، يحيي ويميت وهو على كل شيء قدير
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3553Sahih (Darussalam)
ten times as an addition, for men and women, and for the imam, the ma’mum, and the one praying alone, in Maghrib and Fajr. This came in several hadiths from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
None has the right to be worshipped by Allah, Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him belongs the praise, [He gives life and causes death,] and He has power over all thingsلا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد، يحيي ويميت وهو على كل شيء قدير
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3553Sahih (Darussalam)
ten times, after this dhikr in Fajr and Maghrib.
It is also recommended to say:
O Allah, protect me from Hell
Sunan Abi Dawud 5079Da'if (Al-Albani)
seven times after Fajr and Maghrib, meaning: after the dhikr in Fajr and Maghrib. Abu Dawud narrated a hadith on this that is acceptable. It is recommended to say:
O Allah, protect me from the Fire, O Allah, protect me from the Fire...
seven times after Fajr and after Maghrib. Then, after that, in all the prayers, each person says: Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar, thirty-three times, for men and women, and for the imam, the ma’mum, and the one praying alone, after the five obligatory prayers, after each one in Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr:
"Subhana l-lah", "Al hamdu li l-lah" and "Allahu Akbar"
Sahih al-Bukhari 843
thirty-three times, so the total is ninety-nine. Then he says to complete the hundred:
There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner. To Him belong the Kingdom and praise, and He has power over everything
Muwatta Malik 20:131
This is also a Sunnah. It is recommended to say after this:
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence
[al-Baqarah:255] Ayat al-Kursi, up to the phrase:
and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
[al-Baqarah:255] which is its end. It is also recommended to recite
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[al-Ikhlas: 1] and the two Mu’awwidhat after every prayer except Maghrib and Fajr, repeating them three times. One repeats the three surahs three times after Fajr and Maghrib. This is the best, and all of this is Sunnah. All of this came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). May Allah guide them all. Yes.

The presenter : O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
