Ruling on giving charity to a neighbor who does not pray

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
One of the listening brothers, a Sudanese named Ahmad Abdullah Ahmad, residing in the Kingdom in Shuqra, sent questions summarized as follows. He said in one of them: I have a Muslim neighbor, but he does not pray. If I give him charity, or something similar, will I be rewarded?

Answer:
It is obligatory to advise him and to disapprove of his bad deed, which is abandoning the prayer. If he responds, then praise be to Allah. Otherwise, it is obligatory to boycott him and cut off relations with him until he prays; because abandoning the prayer is a great evil, and indeed it is major shirk (associating partners with Allah) according to the most correct of the scholars' opinions. Therefore, it is not permissible to be lenient with him. Rather, he must be advised and guided, and the greatness of the error in his bad deed must be made clear to him. He should not be given anything from the zakah (obligatory alms) until he submits, until he prays.
As for voluntary charity, if you give to him for the sake of encouraging him and for the sake of calling to Allah, just as a non-Muslim under a treaty or a dhimmi (a non-Muslim under Muslim protection) is given voluntary charity, then there is no harm in this regard. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
