The Ruling on a Stepdaughter in Relation to the Husband's Children

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A letter reached the program from New Halfa, Sudan, from a listener who says (Muhammad M. D. H.). Brother Muhammad says in one of his questions: My father married a woman after my mother passed away (may Allah have mercy on her), and this woman had daughters, but my father divorced this woman and did not have any children from her. Is it permissible for us to shake hands with her daughters, and the daughters of her daughters?

Answer:
They are not mahram to you; rather, they are mahram to your father because he is the husband of their mother. They are stepdaughters, provided he had intercourse with their mother. As for you, they are non-mahram. You are permitted to marry them. They are not your sisters, and they are not your stepdaughters; rather, they are stepdaughters to your father.
So the result is: these daughters are non-mahram to the husband's children. Yes.
