Question:
A letter reached the program from the Obeidiyyah region of Sudan, sent by the listener: Amir al-Din Abdullah. Amir al-Din has more than one question; in one of his questions he says: Is the prayer valid at home if I hear the adhan and do not go to the mosque, or must the prayer be in the mosques?
Answer:
It is obligatory to perform the prayer in the mosques with your Muslim brothers; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Bulugh al-Maram 2:308 .
So this is a blind man who has no guide suitable for him, and yet the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to respond, and did not grant him a dispensation. So how about the case of the able-sighted person? Fear Allah, O questioner! And beware of being lax, and of imitating the people of hypocrisy.
The scholars differed: Is it valid at home? There are two opinions:
One of them is that it is valid with sin, and this is the correct view: it is valid with sin.
The second is that it is not valid, and that he must pray in the congregation, and that their prayer is not valid without the congregation. But the first opinion is more correct: it is valid, but he sins, and he must repent to Allah, and he must be steadfast in performing it in the congregation. May Allah help us. Yes.
The presenter : Allah is the One to be sought for help. May Allah reward you with good.

So this is a blind man who has no guide suitable for him, and yet the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to respond, and did not grant him a dispensation.
