The ruling on instructing the deceased to say "There is no god but Allah"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
On the occasion of mentioning the instruction of the deceased, our brother is asking about this, Your Eminence. Do you add anything, or is what you have mentioned sufficient?

Answer:
As for the instruction at the grave, this is a religious innovation. The correct view is that one does not instruct at the grave. It is not said to him after burial: "Remember what you came out of the world with, the testimony that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and that you are pleased with Allah as your Lord, with Islam as your religion, with Muhammad as your Messenger, and with the Qur'an as your leader." This is not authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the correct view is that it is not prescribed. This restriction after burial at the grave, meaning: instructing him to answer the two angels with the two testimonies and what is mentioned with them, has no basis.
As for the instruction before he dies, namely instructing him to say "There is no god but Allah," it has been mentioned that this is a recommended practice. Before he dies, it is said to him: "Say: There is no god but Allah." If he says it, he is left alone so that it may be the last thing he says. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
