Fatwa number ( 21398 )
Q: What is the ruling on holding the Friday prayer in a deserted village with no permanent residents , where the Bedouin from the desert come to the mosque only at the time of the Friday prayer, and what is the ruling on holding the Friday prayer in a deserted village
that has only three resident workers?
A: If the situation is as described, it is not prescribed to hold the Friday prayer in the deserted village; because there are no permanent residents there, and the Friday prayer is not obligatory on the nomadic Bedouin in the desert, but they pray it as Zuhr with four rak'ahs. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
