Question:
Our brother, the questioner Ibrahim Abu Hamid, is actually connected to the program and sent these questions. He says: What is the difference between the Qur'an and the Qudsi Hadith, and between the Qudsi Hadith and the Prophetic Hadith?
Answer:
The Qur'an is the speech of Allah, revealed and not created, from which it began and to which it returns. It has rulings; it is recited in prayer, and the mushaf is not touched except by one in a state of purity. It is obligatory to recite Surat al-Fatihah in prayer, and it is prescribed to recite it in prayer.
As for the Qudsi Hadith, it is the speech of Allah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conveys. This has the ruling that it is the speech of Allah, but it does not have the ruling of the Qur'an in that it is recited in prayer, or that one who is not in a state of wudu' is prevented from touching the pages containing the Qudsi Hadith. This prohibition of touching the Qur'an except by one in a state of purity is specific to the Qur'an.
As for the Qudsi Hadiths, one who is not in a state of wudu' is not prevented from touching them or reading them, neither the one in a state of janabah nor anyone else. Likewise, they are not recited in prayer; they do not have the ruling of the Qur'an, such as the hadith: ... and others like this.
These are Qudsi Hadiths. This is from the speech of Allah, not from the speech of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him); rather, it is the speech of Allah, but it is not like the Qur'an. Rather, it is permissible for the one in a state of janabah or the one who has not performed wudu' to touch the page containing this hadith, but he is not allowed to recite it in prayer.
As for the speech of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it is what issued from him, his words, such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih al-Bukhari 1 This is the speech of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ... and such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1Sahih (Darussalam) and such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2609Sahih (Darussalam).
And such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih al-Bukhari 25 and the hadiths in this regard are numerous. Yes.

O My servants! All of you are hungry except the one I feed, so seek My food; I will feed you. O My servants! You will not reach My harm to harm Me, and you will not reach My benefit to benefit Me.
